Uli Weber releases his sixth publication, "Il Mezzogiorno," which offers a visual journey through Southern Italy - from Sicily to Sardinia and Puglia to Abruzzo. The work captures the profound contrasts of landscape, history and human influence that define the unique character of the Southern Italian region, also known as Il Mezzogiorno.

Published by Electa Photo, the volume features a text by Academy Award-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren and includes a foreword by renowned critic Denis Curti. The publication supports the non-profit organisation Save the Olives in its battle against the Xylella fastidiosa bacterium, which has affected over 21 million olive trees in Southern Italy. A portion of the book’s proceeds will be donated to this vital cause.

Uli Weber’s "I am, we are, Liberty." immortalizes the creative spirit of one of Britain’s most famous institutions through an exclusive portrait collection, celebrating Liberty’s 150th anniversary. Exhibited in the historic East Atrium of London’s iconic store, the series captures the faces and souls of the brand’s vibrant community, featuring actors, entrepreneurs, athletes, and Liberty’s own in-house visionaries. Each subject was selected by Weber for their unique connection to the brand.

"L'Italia Baciata dalla Luna"

Uli Weber’s "L'Italia baciata dalla luna"  is a poetic celebration of Italy’s enchanting landscapes, captured under the spell of the full moon. This exhibition, hosted at the Italian Cultural Institute in London, unveils Weber’s ongoing project "Yakamoz" - a Turkish term meaning "the glistening path of the moon" and celebrated as one of the world’s most beautiful words. Through his lens, Weber transforms Italy’s most seductive locations into dreamlike scenes, where moonlight dances on water, creating trails of magic and romance.

The Italian Cultural Institute, a beacon of Italian art and culture in London, provides the perfect stage for this homage to Italy - one of Weber’s adopted homes. Each photograph invites viewers to experience the country’s timeless beauty, immortalized in moments of celestial wonder.

"Dive & Madrine"

Biennale Film Festival 2024

Commissioned by the legendary Cinecittà Film Studios in Rome, Uli Weber’s "Dive & Madrine" reinterprets the golden age of Italian cinema through a modern lens. This series, exhibited at the Venice Film Biennale 2024, juxtaposes archival black-and-white photographs of iconic Italian film divas with contemporary portraits of today’s movie stars such as Sonia Bergamasco, Vittoria Puccini, Sveva Alviti, Serena Rossi, Rocío Muñoz Morales, Kasia Smutniak, Caterina Murino and Anna Foglietta.

The Hotel Excelsior, a historic landmark on Venice’s Lido and a hub for the Biennale, serves as the ideal backdrop for this fusion of past and present. Accompanied by a foreword from Lucia Borgonzoni, Undersecretary of State for the Italian Ministry of Culture, and Chiara Sbarigia, President of Cinecittà, the exhibition and its accompanying book, published by ElectaPhoto, celebrate Italy’s enduring influence on global cinema.

"Revival : Goodwood vs Maranello"

Uli Weber’s "Revival: Goodwood vs Maranello" takes center stage at Mercanteinfiera Spring 2024. On one hand, the unique, vivid shots capture the beauty and drama of the competition on the historic Goodwood Revival track, much more than just a vintage motor race. On the other hand, still lifes of exclusive Ferraris, wrapped in beautiful drapes, red, of course, that reveal only a part of their beauty, giving them an almost mysterious air.

Hosted at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, widely regarded as one of the cultural centers of Rome, this prestigious award recognizes photographers whose work conveys movement, dynamism, and human impact. Weber’s images resonate within a space dedicated to exploring the harmony between stability and transformation.

A desert: a vast expanse where one searches for orientation, meaning, and ultimately, balance—the very essence of life. Or perhaps a threshold, a turning point where change and renewal emerge in contrast, or paradoxically, through immutability. My work captures this stillness, unfolding across days and nights, sunrises and sunsets, months and years, revealing a landscape where time moves yet remains unchanged.

Promoted by MIA Photo Fair and organized by Fiere di Parma, the photographs on display are taken from the book by Uli Weber published by Skira, whose preface is written by the Duke of Richmond, creator of the festival and owner of the estate where the legendary circuit is located.

"Quid Pluris: lo sguardo oltre"

Hosted in Christie’s Auction House in London,  Weber features his Polo series and exclusive film in a special charity exhibition. Showcasing striking monochrome images of high-action moments in the saddle, this collection was commissioned by Hackett London to commemorate the first-ever retrospective exhibition of Polo. The series was auctioned in support of the UK Armed Forces Polo Association. Commissioned exclusively for Hackett London, Weber’s series captured the essence of Polo in a powerful yet refined manner. As he explained, the images “highlight the raw and powerful nature of equine power versus human strength, yet also show the beauty and grace of that relationship. The inspiration came from the relationship between horse and rider and the mysterious, symbiotic, and ancient relationship between man and beast.”

"The Allure of Horses"

Following the success of his best-selling second book Goodwood Revival,  Weber continued to show his prowess behind the lens, mixing fine portraiture and reportage with animal and sport images in a wide spectrum of fine photographic craftsmanship. The Allure of Horses is a unique examination of the close relationship between humans and horses, and this publication takes readers on a journey across equine communities—from the steeplechase to the hanging of the Guard by the Household Cavalry to the thrill of the polo field to side-saddle riding through the countryside on a warm summer’s eve.Published and exhibited by Assouline, this third title is not just about dramatic moments but also the mysterious, symbiotic, and ancient relationship between horse and rider. To celebrate the release of The Allure of Horses, Maison Assouline invited Weber to host an accompanying exhibition in their flagship Piccadilly store, which featured exclusive prints from the newly released publication.
